Step 1: Set the base

Step 2: Outline the ship

In the centre of the ship, draw a long rectangular line. This will serve as the flap post. From the centre of this, draw another horizontal rectangle freehand. Make sure your shapes are not a proper rectangle. Narrow or widen the corners as and when required.
Step 6: Draw the sails
Draw curved lines to make them look like sails. You will have to draw three sails of different sizes each. The one on the flag post needs to be big. Make sure to close the curves with lines make them look like true sails.
Note: A sailing ship is a sea-going vessel that uses sails mounted on masts to harness the power of wind and proper the vessel.
Step 7: Complete the sails
Draw another side of sails like shown in the picture. This completes the sail. Your drawing should look like a ship by now. You must also draw strings that help one pull and control the sails.
Step 8: Draw flap of the ship
Mark a point on the flag post. This is where you will be drawing your flag. This is a place you can get creative. Draw a flag from your imagination. Step 9: Complete the ship
